Jerry Hart is a singer, songwriter, and loved entertainer. Jerry was doing a restaurant gig on his own with sing-along tapes, a guitar with a small sound system and a head set to get out with the people. Without a band behind him, Jerry became more of an entertainer instead of just a singer. Then there was the “Singing Coach” deal. Mrs. Jo Hart was her name. She was a teacher that was heading up a group of Quest middle schoolers to raise money for a library. She saw Jerry at Benoit’s (the restaurant) and created the Singing Coach idea followed with T-Shirts and a concert. All proceeds going to the library fund. It was a great success! Jerry pressed forward doing his own thing, meeting musicians and performing at various clubs with bands. Once Jerry got the “itch”, that was it, he put an ad out and started the band, “Southern Way”.
